All eyes were on Black Swan star Natalie Portman, and she didn’t disappoint. Her hair was styled by Frederic Fekkai hairstylist Didier Malige and just like her Black Swan character, her hairstyle was a tale of two havles. One side was sleek and polished and the other luxuriously wavy.
Malige applied an anti-frizz product (we love Frederic Fekkai Coiff Perfecteur Anti-Frizz Silkening Creme) and volumising spray to the hair before blow-drying it smooth using a round brush. He then added waves into the hair using a curling iron. Next, he created a foundation for the hairstyle by backcoming the underneath layers. Finally, he swept the hair round and secured in place with pins; finishing with a spritz of sheer hairspray.
Amy Adams worked with her hairstylist Laini Reeves to perfect Amy’s idea of the perfect red carpet look. ‘We decided her hair would look like this no matter what dress she wore,’ said Reeves.
Reeves worked a couple of drops of Couture Colour Pequi Oil into towel-dried hair to give a ‘luxurious, rich feel’. Reeves then used 1-11/2 inch rollers to set the hair, allowing it to dry; once the rollers were removed the hair was brushed into soft waves using a soft bristle brush.
The glittering gowns may not be attainable but this hairstyle certainly is, add it to your repertoire for summer parties and weddings.
