Jessica Chastain chose to keep her make-up minimal in warm, honey tones which suited her porcelain complexion perfectly. Her hair took centre stage thanks to the retro waves which, paired with her structured, minimal Calvin Klein Collection gown, looked pretty, yet modern.

Her make-up artist Melanie Inglessis for Lancome started work with the star at noon yesterday and it took the star three and a half hours to get red carpet ready!
‘Once we saw the dress we decided to go for a feminine, yet sexy and soft look,’ Inglessis said.
On the eyes she used an angular brush with Lancome Liner Design Long Wear Calligraphy Liner in Trendy Grey to line Lea’s upper lids. Next she blended Illamasqua white shadow with Lancome Colour Design Eye Shadow in a matte grey called Ciel du Soir. ‘I use Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 Hour Foundation, £27 (Selfridges ) and always define and contour Lea’s cheekbones’ she said. The pop of colour on Lea’s cheeks is Shu Uemura Glow On Blush, £19.50 (Liberty ). Lea carried blotting papers in her clutch to keep her t-zone matte, along with Lancome L'Absolu Rouge in Rouge Rendez Vous, £21 (Lancome.co.uk ) – which Inglessis had dabbed onto Lea’s lips with her ring finger ‘I didn’t need to define her lips and wanted them to look really natural so tapping worked’, as well as Rodial Glam Lip Balm, £19 (John Lewis ).
Angelina Jolie went for a bronzy, charcoal eye and glossy subtly caramel lip which sat well against her gold, drop earrings. The star kept her hair simple and swept away from her face.
Amber Heard took the trend to another level with a confident rich-bronze smoky eye with glints of gold and a soft peachy lip. Her up-do complete with super high quiff could have looked try-hard but the wispy texture gives it an undone feel.
