First up was Jessica Szohr who stepped out on Tuesday with shoulder length hair, looking much glossier and healthier than her previous extension-esque lengths.
Next we spotted Liv Tyler, she decided to keep the length and opted for a complexion boosting colour change instead. The Hollywood actress went from girl-next-door brown to stand out strawberry red.
Oh and Britney went from blonde to brunette, again. It’s hardly worth noting, she changes her hair so much, however it’s common knowledge that when the pop star is blonde she’s happy, but when she’s brunette she’s sad. Let’s hope she goes back to the highlights soon.
Finally, Jessica Alba made her first appearance of the new decade at The People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday; she was sporting a shorter, dishevelled hairstyle. “Next season it's all about movement and wave, which is definitely easier to achieve with shoulder length hair." Hairdresser Paul Edmonds told ELLEuk.com. Jessica dyed her hair from a mid brown to a dark brunette back in November and she seems to like the colour so much she’s sticking with it.
And it’s not just the A-List going for the chop, customers at Charles Worthington’s salons have been at it too.
"We are finding in the salons that women want a more structured, polished style. This means they can look sophisticated without buying a new dress, very credit crunch friendly! Shorter, blunt styles mean you can look groomed, whilst these styles are manageable at home." Charles told ELLEuk.com.
So it looks like whether you want to change your colour or go for a new, blunter style, now is the time to do it.
