Brows are back this season and while they shouldn’t steal the show, they should be strong and groomed.
You need a product that will help you to shade in your brows and enhance the natural shape. Team ELLE have been putting powders, gels and pencils to the test, here’s our top picks…
Price: £14
Stockist: Clinique
Best for: Beginners and everyday
Pros: This crayon / pencil hybrid was so easy to build up from a subtle to more dramatic look. The highlighter at the other end can be used on the brow bone, but also on the cupid’s bow, cheekbones and eyelids. Really versatile.
Cons: This is a great product, I can’t find fault.
Price: £19.50
Stockist: Shavata
Best for: Brow perfectionists
Pros: This brow trio includes a light, medium and dark wax perfect for mixing my perfect shade. The brushes are firm so I could add colour to my brows, while also grooming the hairs into place.
Cons: Blending can be time consuming and this is definitely not one for an on-the-go application.
Price: £12.10
Stockist: Feel Unique
Best for: Grooming stray hairs
Pros: Used lightly on stray hairs this kept my brows groomed and in check all day. It also works well to keep any brow pencil and powder in place.
Cons: If I put too much on, my brows felt a bit tight – go gently with this one for best results.
Price: £10
Best for: A long lasting product
Pros: This powder-duo compact complete with mirror and dual-ended brush is really easy to use. The powder was subtle and stayed put all day.
Cons: There aren’t any. Even the price point is good!
Price: £11.50
Best for: Tidying and shaping brows
Pros: This mascara wand sparingly combs and tidies your brows with just the right amount of gel. You instantly see the benefit; eyebrows are the frame of your face and all that.
Cons: Despite giving you another thing to do in the morning and the potential to get it confused with your mascara (not a good look), I can’t find fault.
Price: £24.90
Stockist: Youngblood
Best For: Everything you need in one kit
Pros: This kit had everything I could need for perfectly groomed brows. Two powders for shading gaps; a wax to tidy stray hairs; tweezers and a dual ended grooming wand and brush.
Cons: I would have liked an eyebrow pencil to create a slightly more enhanced look.
