Bold and bright, this is a notice-me-shade that instantly brightened up my complexion and dark winter wardrobe. With a matte finish and statement hue (erring on the neon side of pink) I absolutely loved it. Some reapplying is needed because the shade is so vibrant, however when it did wear off it left my lips with a pretty pink stain. Dr Hauschka’s Lipstick 16 is a vivid pink – the kind of shade you look at, lust after but then dismiss for being too daring. Happily it’s much less scary on and wears like a strong gloss rather than a heavy colour. It has a silky finish and feels like a lip balm. Staying power is good and it fades to a flattering bitten colour but if you want the original colour to last you'll need to reapply every hour. A great introduction to statement colours. The colour is electric - it really pops and is true to the bullet. However the slick consistency of the lipstick means that the colour evaporates into a really pretty, pale, iridescent version of its formerly vibrant self. In short this lipstick is too moisturising, so much so that it functions almost as a lip balm. It lacks staying power – but conversely doesn’t dry out the lips as a result. This lipstick is a sugary sweet bubblegum pink with an oh-so-retro frosted finish. On application, the pigment is not as intense as you might expect, but the pearlescent finish adds a pretty shimmer. It goes on to the lips easily and is really moisturising. This is a really light coral pink shot through with tiny particles of glitter. While there is a shimmer the finish on the lips is fairly matte. The first thing I noticed about this lipstick was how easily it was to apply – even to my less than smooth lips at this time of the year. The consistency was really even which means I didn't have to go over and over my sensitive lips creating further unwanted soreness. I applied the lipstick before going out around 7pm, ate dinner, drank tea and I still had to use a muslin cloth to get my lips totally clean before bed – so it stays!
