Update: 18/9/17

Between the epic 40-shade foundation range, the inclusive campaign and that gold Kilowatt highlightergold Kilowatt highlighter, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty range has been the beauty launch of 2017.

Even Naomi Campbell's on board.

But there's one question the brand had yet to answer - is it cruelty free?

Surely Ri Ri's socially conscious make-up range is all about keeping product testing far away from animals, right?

Right! Of course, the 29-year-old singer, designer and Fenty Beauty founder wouldn't let us down.

Confirming via Pop Sugar, a spokesperson from BOLD PR who represent Fenty Beauty in the US said the products are indeed cruelty free and also mentioned that the game-changing products aren't available in China where make-up is legally required to be tested on animals. YAS.

As if we needed another reason to splurge.

Update: 2/8/17

It's official - Rihanna has finally revealed the launch date for her much-anticipated new make-up line, Fenty Beauty.

Posting on her personal account and the new @fentybeauty Instagram last night, RiRi started the long-awaited countdown to the launch of her line, captioning the picture: '@FentyBeauty is coming!!!! Countdown to September. 8. 2017 starts now.#FENTYBeauty makeup will be available globally at @sephora and @harveynicholsLink us at FentyBeauty.com'

The best bit? You'll be able to get your hands on the make-up line in good old Harvey Nichols.

Don't you just love when beauty launches are actually available in the UK?

Update: 25/7/17

After stepping out at the premiere of her latest film Valerian, in what could arguably be the best red dress we've ever seen, Rihanna treated us to a second gift (because she's just chill like that), none other than a tease for her upcoming Fenty Beauty line due to drop this Autumn.

Posting on her own Instagram account, RiRi captioned her uber glowy selfie '@fentybeauty #NewGenerationOfBeauty Coming...this Fall!!!!'.

Ok, we can only guess but, going by the singer's seriously dewy skin and berry lips, we reckon Fenty Beauty's got one hell of a highlighter and some majorly matte lipsticks in store.

Watch this space.

Update: 1/6/17

After literally years of anticipation, Rihanna has finally announced that her debut Fenty Beauty line will be launching exclusively in Harvey Nichols this Autumn (or Fall if you will).

With a holographic lip product already teased backstage at her Fenty x Puma SS17 show and a brand spanking new website and Instagram account launched, the most hyped beauty line ever finally looks like it's going to be a reality.

YAS.

Sign up now to get on the waiting list (we definitely didn't do that first thing this morning...) and, as the website says, be part of the Fenty family.

Original, 1/9/15

We're about to find love with a new cosmetics line. Ok, doesn't have quite the same ring to it, but get excited everyone, RiRi just dropped a bomb.

Yesterday during her New York appearance, a Refinery 29 reporter asked Rihanna whether the Fenty Beauty trademark she registered secretly last year was for a beauty line.

'Oh wow, that's crazy, how did you know that?' Rihanna replied. 'That is definitely something I am going to have my hands on and would love to do. It's something that I've always wanted to do, but I've always had so much on my hands. But, this time, I'm going to make sure it happens. I'm going to find some time between albums and fragrance to do that. I promise.'

There's word she wants to get involved with the inventive process too. When asked what products she'd love to create, she replied, 'There are a lot! Lashes that could just put themselves on...lipstick that doesn't move, but doesn't dry your lips out, that you don't need a liner for. I mean, it sounds so unreal.'

She just released her new RiRi fragrance, joining the latest of a handful of successful scents, so she's already working her way up the pro beauty ladder. But, if she can pull off products that sounds that good, she just might become Queen of cosmetics.
