Being on this runstreak means I have to run at least a mile every day. Today is day 267 which means I have had many runs to drive down the time it takes me. I started at around a 10-minute mile and am now around the 8-minute mile mark (a long way off the fastest International Association of Athletics Federations ratified miles by Susan Kuijken at 4:27:13 and Nancy Jebet Langat at 4:28:50).

So, when I heard there was a mile-long race in London that asks the question 'How fast can you run the mile?' I was tempted enough to sign up.

The race is held on 22 June, starting at St Paul's Cathedral and looping around past the Bank of England for the sprint finish along Cheapside. The race costs £15 and you can raise money for one, or both, of the charities that the race supports - Trinity Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sign-up here at cityoflondonmile.co.uk and I'll see you on race day!
