Just when you thought that both the beauty industry and Hollywood couldn't get any weirder, we today learn the news that Kanye West and Katy Perry are among the celebrities paying for a massage with extra bite. Literally.
Treatments using snail slime, the now infamous 'vampire facial' with blood injectables that Kim Kardashian West is a big fan of, bird guano masques: you name it, somebody will probably pay for it.
Heck, in certain parts of the world you can pay for a woman in a babygrow to cuddle you or stare into your eyes for an hour, so we shouldn't really be surprised any more about new and increasingly weird faddy treatments.
And yet here we are, wondering at the appeal of paying for someone to bite your back mid massage.
According to Hollywood Reporter, masseuse Dorothy Stein has been offering up her incisors since the '80s, with major celebrities such as Kanye West and Katy Perry as willing parting with approximately $150/£115 for the pleasure.
The massage lasts for an hour and the added nibbling is apparently to increase blood flow around the body - much like cupping is supposed to do.
