It might be easier and quicker to do, but washing your face in the shower is a big no-no. And here's why:

Under Pressure

The power of the water can be too harsh on the delicate skin on your face. It might seem like a small thing but standing directly under the stream of a pressurised shower head is like using harsh down-dragging motions when applying moisturiser, which in turn can be ageing.

Over-cleansing

Just as lethal as not enough cleansing. Combining the heat and pressure of washing your face in the shower increases the chances of over-cleansing, which can strip your skin of the natural oils that hydrate and keep your skin plump. This can also cause broken blood vessels, which cause your skin to look more red and sore.

The Solution?

Ensure you are not committing these common mistakes in your skincare regime and stick to tepid temperatures. Use the sink bowl to cup water in your hands to gently rinse away your cleanser. Dab your skin dry and don't 'tug' your skin in any way.
