Sunday is traditionally the one day of week for hangovers, roasts, Netflix and chilling and the comfort of a onesie.

Not necessarily in the case of Jennifer Aniston, though.

In a recent online article, the actress explained how Sundays are strictly reserved for pampering with her husband, Justin Theroux.

It got us thinking; maybe we should use this regular day of rest and nothing-ness to be more productive with our skincare? To set us up for the week with fresh skin and all that. Try to mask that grey-self-inflicted-alcohol-sallowness that our skin (and kidneys) hate us for.

You’ll have to peel yourself up from the sofa, but the good news is you can keep your onesie on and your skin will look much better for it. We promise.

Here’s how, according to ELLE Beauty, to nail the ultimate Sunday beauty regime (with minimal effort):

Cleanse

This may seem like the obvious step, but this doesn't just mean doing the once over with a make-up wipe. Increase the effectiveness of your favourite cleanser by using a sonic brush to buff away any debris, dirt and dead skin cells. You skin will never experience a deeper clean.

Tone

Usually the most confusing and overlooked category when it comes to skincare but a good toner can have many benefits, especially for those with acne-prone skin. Our skin is naturally acidic. Due to alkaline nature of most soaps the pH balance is naturally disturbed during cleansing. Using a toner restores the pH balance in your skin and prevents excess oil production.

Moisturise

Whatever your skin type, moisturising is a very important step. If you have oily skin opt for a lightweight moisturiser. ELLE loves the Ole Henriksen Featherweight moisturiser, £38. If you’re skin is dry opt for a richer formula like the Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream, £29.50.

Treat

Apply a mask, leave it on (finish off an episode of your favourite Netflix series), wash it off. We love the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask, £45.
