With great views over St Helier and around to St Aubin, this unusual spa ia peaceful and welcome break from the pace of normal daily life.
The spa and pool area differ greatly in terms of decor compared to the accommodation area of the main hotel – this is a good thing, the hotels interior looks a little dated in parts and could do with modernising.
My afternoon of treatments began with an Ayurvedic consultation where my well-being, diet and lifestyle were discussed in order to determine my ‘dosha’. It was during the consultation that I realised this spa was like none other I had been to before. It was a ’well-being spa’ rather than a spa based on just luxury and pampering (although it does offer that too).
After my consultation I had two wonderful treatments, the first was an Abhyanga Oil Massage – this was pure heaven. Two very friendly, yet professional, therapists performed a full body massage in unison, firstly starting at my feet and working towards my head. The massage was fantastic and highlights the talent of the therapists, whose timing and co-ordination was faultless.

This treatment was finished with a Bashpa, a steam treatment, where I was left to relax in a Swedish herbal steam room.
My second treatment was even better than the first, if that's possible. It is called Shirodhara and is meant to still the mind. Warm oils are massaged into the third eye ( middle of forehead ) which are left to gently flow through your hair during the treatment. An odd sensation at first, but after a few minutes you begin to feel completely relaxed and more than a little sleepy. I imagine this treatment would be ideal for people with sleep problems or those who have had a stressful day. One thing to bear in mind is that your hair does stay quite oily for a few days after – although the smell is lovely!

The spa also offers yoga lessons, while the gym and swimming pool are perfect for the more active guests.
The treatment rooms were well-decorated, the staff very welcoming and the treatments were professional and pleasantly unusual. The heated beds in the relaxation room were a lovely way to end my day.
