If luxury is what you are after you can’t get more elegant than Carol Joy’s salon, a chic and welcoming beauty emporium just a short walk from South Kensington tube station.
Book in for head-to-toe treatments from hair cuts and colour (she has Daniel Galvin Jnr on board) to diamond facials, massage and teeth whitening. There’s also the usual waxing, eyelash tinting, manicures and pedicures, making this a real one-stop shop for beauty - you can even have your make-up done.
Attention to detail is key to this salon’s ambience, beauty products come in book-inspired packaging arranged like a library, the décor is chic and luxe – even the loo seats are heated. In the treatment rooms, as well as a walk in shower, you’ll also find a bath for a truly indulgent and relaxing experience.
ELLE tested the Diamond Facial, £135 for 90 minutes which is tailored to your skin type.
From the first class bed and duvet to the diamond tipped exfoliating tool, this facial is the height of luxury. A deep clean is followed by microdermabrasion (which isn’t too abrasive, but still improves skin tone and reduced pore size), then an intensive facial massage follows which helps give skin that ‘plumped’ effect. A mask is then applied to help balance oily and dry areas and while it’s working its magic you are treated to a blissful scalp massage. Afterwards, my skin felt and looked hydrated, balanced and brighter and the effects lasted a few days after the facial.
Products used are packed with Golden Millet Oil and Diamond Dust, Carol’s key beauty ingredients, which help to improve the condition of the skin – they are both key in restoring balance to problem skin – plus they smell amazing, so much so I was tempted to treat myself to some at-home products from the ‘library’ on my way out.
