The Verbena Spa at The Feversham Arms Hotel

The Verbena Spa at chic country hotel, The Feversham Arms, is located in the heart of North Yorkshire’s lush countryside in the market town of Helmsley.

Like the hotel, the spa is designed for maximum comfort, with chic country style decor, low lighting and heated floors that make for a refreshing change from uber modern spas which sometimes prioritise style over substance.

The spa has a sauna, aromatherapy room and salt vapour room. Plus, a decked sun terrace, outdoor pool and hot tub, which mean in the summer months it’s easy to lose a day here – even without booking treatments.

There’s plenty of pampering packages on the menu (starting from around £100) that mean girl groups, hen-dos , and pre-wedding events are all well catered for. We particularly like Mother-to-be massages like ‘Baby love’, the half day pass for ‘Teen Queens’ and the ‘Brides-to-be Indulgence’. But there’s also lots of men’s grooming packages if you’re enjoying a romantic weekend break with your other half.

We tried the Elemis (Anti-Aging) Smoothie facial (£75) and a full body massage (£65), both of which got top marks. The facial is designed for anti-aging and rejuvenation and uses results-driven Elemis products like their Tri- Enzyme Papaya Peel and Resurfacing Gel mask – which tingle reassuringly, yet don’t stop this being a relaxing and nourishing treatment during which you’ll find it hard not to drop off.

Finally, don’t leave without selecting from the spa lunch menu - the hotel attracts foodies nationwide and is well known for its top-notch food.
Book treatments to the value of £75 and use of the spa is free, or if you’re staying in the hotel a 3 hour pass is just £25.
