If you’re looking for an indulgent spa experience, without increasing the size of your carbon footprint, then the Titanic Spa in Huddersfield could be for you.

On the edge of the Pennine mountains and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, nestles Titanic Spa: the UK’s first eco-spa. It occupies the ground floor of the vast Titanic Mill, an imposing Grade II listed building, which on approach looks far from tranquil, but once inside you will find a peaceful sanctuary offering luxurious treatments from beauty houses including Decleor, Elemis and Carita.

The mill has been restored to ensure that wherever possible renewable energy sources are used. The bistro uses only organic and Fairtrade produce and the spa even has its own water hole which provides fresh mineral water for guests throughout their stay.

Visitors can choose to workout in the well-equipped techno-gym, swim in the chemical-free pool, or steal an afternoon snooze in the plush beanbag pit.

Pre-booked treatments take place in one of 20 luxurious rooms with luxurious treatment beds that are strewn with plump duvets and satin throws. There is also the Titanic Heat Experience for serious stress busting, a relaxing journey of hot and cold sensations that cleanse the body and mind, including a lantern filled aromatherapy room and ice room scented with peppermint.

We recommend the Elemis Tri-enzyme resurfacing facial, lasting 55 minutes (£70). Serum is layered in three stages and is followed by a papaya peel-off mask leaving smooth, peachy and illuminated skin.
