When asked where to find a spa with a rooftop pool in London for groups of girlfriends to enjoy – as I am with increasing regularity – the answer is of course The Berkeley. It still reigns unchallenged as the only destination for pool-side spa-ing in the city. The open-air rooftop pool is perhaps the most relaxing and iconic place to snooze, chat and swim after a treatment. But as wonderful as the setting is, it’s what happens below stairs that will leave a lasting impression.
The treatment rooms are modern with enough fluffy towels and expensive looking creams to make you feel suitably pampered. The treatment list makes you feel like a kid in a candy shop; hydrating facials and deep tissue massage sit alongside seaweed body wraps from organic Irish brand VOYA and your basic preening menu of manis, pedis and waxing. And sitting slap bang in the middle of Knightsbridge, it lends the perfect start or end to a day with the girls.
