I get bored of my hair very easily (no offence hair) so when I saw models on the catwalk at Mulberry with their hair tucked into coats and jumpers I realised just how genius this quick styling trick can be. Not only did their hair look fuller - the tuck seems to miraculously give hair a natural bend and a little added volume - it also appears shorter.

I like this trend because I've been growing my hair for years, it has literally crawled out of my head at the pace of an elderly snail so there is not a chance I'm letting a hairdresser near my still-not-long-enough tresses with scissors for anything more than a trim. So, what the hair tuck gives me is the illusion of a crop without the commitment.

This simple trick has grown on me so much that I've been tucking my hair into basically anything I can shove it into - scarves, jackets, jumpers, T-shirts - you name it, I've tucked my hair into it. It's had mixed reviews - one friend thought I had chopped my hair off. Another thought I had my hair caught in my coat. 'Eurgh, don't you knooow this is the hairstyle from Mulberry...!?' I jokingly exclaimed.

I possible should have headed her confusion as a word of warning however. It was freak occurrence, at least I'm hoping so... but I did get tangled up the other day on as I was getting off the tube through a crowd of people at Stockwell. I don't know how, but my handbag, canvas shopper and scarf all got tangled with my hair, which left me looking like some crazed bag lady until I could safely free myself once on the platform.

Aside from Tube-gate, I really love this look.
