Sophia and Sophie, with ELLE's Beauty Director

Think about exactly how much you love Sophia Webster shoes and all the reasons why you love them. Now transfer those thoughts into human form and you pretty much have Sophia Webster in person. The shoes are cute, Sophia is cute. The shoes are playful, Sophia is playful. The shoes are irreverent, colourful, fun, quirky, don't take themselves too seriously, you get the drift.

We caught up with Sophia at the launch of her (frankly beautiful) Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe collaboration, and to celebrate them actually being available to buy now, we're sharing all of the beauty secrets she uncovered, here. It is official, we love her as much as we love her shoes. Especially these ones (modelled by Kylie Jenner):

ELLE: OK, secret addresses: Where do you get your hair done?

SW: Well I do my hair myself usually. I kind of don’t really get a chance to go and sit down to have my hair done in a salon. I have someone come to my studio to dye it while I'm workng, she's a bit of a lifesaver. It’s got sort of mousey blonde naturally, but when I was pregnant it went much darker weirdly.

ELLE: Nails?

SW: I go to WAH nails, I like a bit of nail art.

ELLE: Do you do your own make up too?

SW: Yeah, I like products! I use a Smashbox concealor and Benefit Highbeam - I can't live without Highbeam - and Nars Bronzer in Laguna. That, and a Bobbi Brown Mascara is all I really use day-to-day.

ELLE: I would imagine you'd be into colour because your designs are so colourific

SW: I don’t usually wear much make up at all, but if I have an event or something I would always go for lips. I don't know what the shade name is but there is an amazing dark pink from illamasqua that is the best lipstick ever. (A light google image search of Sophia in Lipstick suggests it is Eurydice). I also love Revlon nail varnishes, they are amazing.

ELLE: Speaking of colour, what was your inspiration for the aw2015 collection?

SB: Well the title is Freak Like Me, so it's kind of a circus, carnival influence. Every collection always seems to start off with Gwen Stefani. Because everyone Googles for references now so there are these same images that get rehashed and overused, so it's important to draw from my own experiences because these are entirely unique to me. I spent all of my teenage years wanting to be Gwen, so in a slightly stalkerish way, that’s where I always go back to. So this time I was thinking of the No Doubt days, and there were a lot of black and white optic prints, which then kind of evolved into circus, which then went down the Cirque de Soleil route.

ELLE: What 3 essentials get you through the shows?

SW:

1. I love beetroot juice, is started drinking it when I was pregnant, and it's meant to be good for your brain too.

2. Obviously coffee. We usually try to take 15 or 20 minute breaks when we can, so we'll go to this little café called Ruby’s, around the corner from the office.

3. Hot food. Same cafe. They sort us out with something special because we always get there after everything else has run out!

ELLE: Your signature scent?

SW: I have a mini purse spray from Jo Malone that was given to me as a present and I love it. English Pear & Fresia.

ELLE: Finally, your at home hair regime?

SW: I always need a serum or shine spray, because I have a baby, so I tend to just get out the shower and leave my hair. It's naturally quite wavy so I leave it, then it turns into frizz, then I just put a bit of shine spray on it and it's back to nice waves. The Toni & Guy Moisturising Shine Spray is amazing. I am also obsessed with big bows in my hair. Johnny Loves Rosie are the best, I have bought their hair accessories since I was a teenager.
