Let me set the scene:

We've arrived at Finsbury Park. It's 8am. It's bitterly cold. It's raining. We've been graced with all the clichés of a bootcamp session (minus the motivation!).

I glance over at my ELLEfit team who are scowling at the thought of how I roped them into this early morning commitment.

Thankfully, our host and fitness expert Jessie Pavelka was keen to get us started and runs us through the four-part obstacle course. At this point, all we could think about was getting warm so we're all suddenly pretty game for whatever! What seemed daunting at first was our only option to regain the senses in our numbing hands.

In short: We bear crawled, climbed, jump-squatted, lunged and sprinted our way through to the end where we were met with a pit of mud. And yes, we mucked in and crawled our way to salvation. Despite artic temperatures and rain we were all smiles and surprisingly enjoyed every bit of it.

Tip: Don't wear your favourite kit!
