catwalk S/S 2010
review
20 September 2009
A trip to an Ashish show is always a treat, full of fun, colour and more than a handful of sequins, and the label’s spring/summer 2010 collection proved no exception. Last season’s bad girl has landed herself a trip on a cruise, and she’s got the wardrobe to go with it. Hawaian prints featuring, flowers, palm trees, flamingos and toucans, sequinned of course, emerged on shorts, bomber jackets and shoulder-padded T-shirts, and there were eye-popping dresses, both long and short, featuring world landmarks and attractions like the Mona Lisa, the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. There was still attitude and a hint of punk in the mix in the acid wash denim jackets and trousers, the padded shoulders and even bumbags, that essential cruise accessory, which featured studs. Our verdict? Bold, bright and tongue-in-cheek, just the way we like it.
