catwalk S/S 2010
review
5 October 2009
Clashing cultures, clashing prints. Contrasting Parisian styling with Indian batik, Dries Van Noten produced a masterful show for spring/summer 2010. Bursting onto the catwalk with colour and energy, this collection mixed gilded sari wraps with slim-fitting trousers, fine ethnic fabrics with Chanel-inspired heels, and added glittering chunks of costume jewellery. Refined and dignified, the result was a collection that showcased the very DNA of the brand, which has always been a global vision. A pair of rolled-up chinos were worn with an intricate and heavily beaded collarless jacket; a silver lame pencil skirt teamed with an intensely coloured print shirt and contrasting jacket. A trench coat was recreated in Ikat. Bright and beautiful.
