catwalk S/S 2010

This show is always one of the hot tickets of London Fashion Week. Why? Because it’s the place to spot the next big names – don’t forget that Marios Schwab, Louise Goldin, Richard Nicoll and Gareth Pugh all cut their teeth here. Even Victoria Beckham turned out to see what London’s hot new designers had to offer.
Heikki Salonen’s debut collection, ‘Cool Kids Never Have the Time’, was inspired by the brooding moodiness of Ingmar Bergman films. The colour palette was neutral and the focus was on simple wardrobe staples with beautiful detailing, all given a tomboy edge when styled with Doc Marten boots. From the sleeveless tailored jacket with beaded shoulders to the classic-with-a-twist little black dresses, the collection was chic cool and effortlessly wearable. We sense a future star.
