“There’s a definite 60s movement going on” said ELLE Fashion Features Director Rebecca Lowthorpe after the Alberta Ferretti show.

This collection certainly drove home the message that it was a growing trend for autumn winter.

Teal, orange, purple and grey A-line dresses hovered above velvet over-the-knee block heel boots – some plain, some with elaborated gold brocade detailing. Tent dresses came either detail-free with cute bow fastenings at the back, or in swirl prints. Coats followed the same method with sequins for evening.

When watching a Ferretti show though, as wonderful as the opening and middle, you’re really holding out for the beautiful gowns at the end. You can’t better a Ferretti floor length dress for romance and she didn’t disappoint us. Without out a hint of the 60s trend we had just witnessed, these blush, black and silver grey lace and silk layered gowns gave us our Ferretti fix.
