Had we wandered onto the set of Dynasty? No, but the off-the-shoulder velvet dresses and puff ball sleeves at Danielle Scutt's comeback show would certainly please Joan Collins and the gang.
Having taken a six month sabbatical last year, Scutt returned to London with an array of eveningwear that incorporated silk mid-length dresses, lattice-like crossing of fabrics on trousers and over-sized shirts and ruched body-con tops. With a palette of navy and black off-set by shots of neon pink and deep purple, each look was accessorised with statement gold earrings and rope belts reminiscent of 90s Moschino. A selection of oversized belted coats were by far the strongest and most covetable pieces and would look equally as strong over mannish trousers in the day as they did over Scutt's cocktail dresses. This was the polar opposite of the earlier Charles Anastase show but it packed a punch and the young crowd clearly approved.
As expected, Scutt did her own thing and this season, if you're one of her girls, it's all about the power-woman's evening wardrobe.
