Is there anything quite so Italian as a Dolce

Colourful, bold vegetable prints covered the pieces - we spotted onions, aubergines, tomatoes, chilli peppers and even the ever chic courgette cropping up on of the shoulder, full skirted dresses, pencil skirts worn with off the shoulder, cropped peasant tops and 1950s knickers and frilled bras. Crocheted lace skirt suits with neat, cropped sleeved swing jackets looked as though the models were wearing their Sunday best. And the colourful straw baskets were worthy of somewhere more cosmopolitan that a rural market.

Of course, this being Dolce, there was a healthy dose of glitz too; simply cut dresses and mini skirts heavily encrusted with colourful stones,  tiered dresses scattered with crystals and shimmering fringed hems and a clear plastic mac covered with crystals and trimmed with lace. And then there was the finale. Every model took to the runway wearing a variation on fifties pin-up swimwear, sparkling in sequins or covered with lace and looking like a clutch of modern day Sophia Loren’s. Possibly not standard small town fare, but utterly fabulous none the less.
