Donna Karan has been travelling to and from Haiti this past year and her spring collection stems from this personal and creative passion for the island.

The visual result of which was a heavily referenced tribal collection re-worked on to urban, slinky clothes.

Draped jersey came so tight they were a second skin, bandage straps snaked around the body and brush-stroke prints, inspired by Haitian artist Philippe Dodar, lined raffia canvas dresses. Woven and perforated leather jackets cemented this texture trend for spring and body long zips and asymmetric necklines added a further athletic silhouette.

As always, a confident and coherent show from New York's powerhouse.
