It was the prettiest show of London Fashion Week.

Erdem Moralioglu is making his name as a master of colour and decoration. But for spring/summer 2010, he surpassed all expectations. Beautifully constructed and considered, this collection leapt from the catwalk with its intensity. Flowers embroidered on floral prints, lace scattered across taffeta, tiers of silk and chiffon: it could have been saccharine sweet but Erdem has a lightness of touch that keeps his designs modern, young and – above all - desirable. There were many beautiful dresses, but one stand out piece in this tightly focused presentation: a simple puff-sleeve bell-skirted dress in vibrant blue, overlaid with black lace that had the front row collectively catching its breath.
