To tell you that paisley print was show at the Etro show is like telling you that a lot of designers have been showing coats for Autumn Winter.

The latter has been reported on as if it warranted a news flash far too many times already this season. Whatever next? Swimwear in summer?

Anyway (I digress), the Etro show moved on its signature paisley print to include dragons, totems and samurai iconography. Beautiful silk robes and pyjama trousers were made from this colourful print but mixed with colonial, masculine suiting - the contrast worked incredibly well. Robes were draped over tweed suits, and military jackets worn with printed silk trousers drove home how great a look statement trousers with a fitted jacket is right now.

The collection had a "Last Days of the Raj" feel to it. A mix of western uniform and eastern exoticism.
