The big dial at the head of the runway said it all—it’s Fendi time, and in Karl’s world it seems the 1960s is spring’s big influence.

Back-combed beehives topped the front-pleated skirts; swing jackets, shirts and short-sleeved blouses had pleated panels running down the front, and tea dresses had pinafore fronts and cut-away shoulders, giving them the air of terribly chic nurse uniforms. There were stripes aplenty, blue or red and white cotton skirts and a great trench dress. And there was barely a trousers in sight—just a pale blue leather, loose-fitting pair teamed with a sheer floral top, and a black evening jumpsuit covered with the same petaled pattern.

But most of the post-show chat amongst the ELLE team centred around the accessories; chic bucket bags in leather and croc, coloured cone heeled shoes made from hole punched leather, clutches covered in graphic patterns of sequins and boldly striped mules.
