The fiercely eyebrowed designer is renowned for her love of black, and while there was plenty of it on offer, she also veered into dove grey and mint.
The show opened with a short film shot by Rankin before the first model hit the runway in a full length sheer dress layered over .... - long-time Hannah Marshall fan Erin O’Connor told me backstage that it was her favourite piece. What followed was strong, powerful and edgy - Hannah’s signature style - but with a more refined and polished feel than we’ve seen from her before. She played with contrasting fabrics, teaming sheer shirts with tailored trousers, giving a classic long black trench a sheer pannelled back. There were pale grey chiffon shirt dresses and suede jackets. And the shapes were simple, wearable and undeniably cool.
A pair of grey suede trousers were adorned with large, tight folds like concertinas, and the same detailing cropped up on sheer tops and stand-out dresses that we predict will be a big hit on the red carpet. All in all? Her best collection yet.
