“The House of Holland girl toughens up” said the show notes.

We can’t remember a time when she was anything but fierce – how else could she pull off such attention-grabbing creations? Spring summer is no exception.

With Skins and Punks, SKA and South Beach as the tuneful inspiration, she walked in cloud-shape bleached denim, laser-cut fishnet leather and an upscale version of the string vest in lurex. Tiny denim hotpants and python cigarette pants came edged with zips, giving what shall be known as the three-way pant: hotpant, knee-length or trouser depending on your mood. After the show Henry told us that you can even de/re-zip to mix and match python colourways for a two-tone effect. We also saw a revival of the House of Holland tartan, styled print on print in a dungaree dress, kilt, blazer and trousers, with some great rose gold padlock necklaces by Katie Hillier and python mules by Nicholas Kirkwood.

It was the end series of an overblown pastel leopard print on jumpsuits, cap-sleeve and drop-waisted dresses that were the stars of the show. And ironically, the least tough of the lot.
