Thanks to the sunglasses we’ll never know, but her part in The September Issue along with Angelina Jolie’s in Lara Croft; Tomb Raider were used as the backing track to Raf Simon’s show.

We’re only glad that last season’s porn imagery wasn’t thrown in to the mix as well.
The looks centred on Wintour’s tweedy suits and Croft’s action-hero get-up; two directions that wouldn’t normally come together but here the common theme was power women. And as both directions were streamlined and stripped away as is typical at Sander, they worked side by side.
Whether we will see Wintour, or indeed any working professional, powering to work in a boucle mini jumpsuit remains to be seen. But the sheer skirt layers under long-line jackets and fitted dresses, slashed to reveal tiny flashes of skin, offered redefined classics.
