Mark Fast is a designer renowned for his beautifully accomplished knitwear and body con dresses.

But after three seasons producing variations on these much-loved cobweb styles, he decided to stray from the expected and showcased a surprisingly varied collection that brought new ideas to his line.

The introduction of coats signalled the first significant shift in the designer’s repertoire; Heavy woollen with textured sheepskin and intricate pleating looked cosy and snug- quite the opposite vibe of his signature body-con dresses. A thicker, more textured and softer merino wool was also introduced and gave the putty hued dresses and coats a softer, more wearable feel. But it was look 7 that really proved just how Fast was intending to change our expectations.

Switching instantly from soft, light, feminine pieces with fishtails and elegant ruffling, the first leather look hit the catwalk. The loose fitting, over-sized T-shirt style dress in nude leather was an instant hit. What followed was a mixture of black and nude leather, loose and tight. From Dominatrix style jumpsuits to sleek chic sheer black tops with leather panelling, this was a surprise break from the norm that the audience clearly adored. "It's his best yet" was a resounding conclusion from those near-by.
