The fan-shaped invitation (terribly useful in warm and sunny Milan) to this morning's Moschino show hinted heavily at the Spanish vibe of the collection.

Styled by Anna Dello Russo and never shy about translating a theme—this, after all, is the brand that last season sent Coco Rocha down the catwalk with a chicken on her head—there was no mistaking the matador and flamenco influences at play.

Toreador jackets came in black, dripping with gold bells and teamed with tight-fitting, high-waisted trousers or more subtly in lace. They were even transformed into a black leather jacket covered with colourful hearts and emblazoned with the slogan 'Make Up Not War'. And black mini dresses, heavily and richly embroidered in gold, echoed the bullfighting spirit.

On the more feminine front there were silk blouses with low-cut backs paired with full, lace skirts and the dresses sported flamenco-style ruffles or peasant- like petticoat skirts. And they all came with ribbed, stacked wedges and topped with floral headdresses or little black hats. Muy bien.
