London fashion week welcomes a new grown-up muse for PPQ's autumn winter 12 collection

The PPQ girl of yore is no-more – it’s time to usher in a more sophisticated and grown-up muse.

Gone are the bold and flirty colours, the super short skirts and kitsch prints, and in its place are evening gowns and statement coats in a pared-down palette of black velvet, grey tweed and white chiffon. Of course it wouldn’t be PPQ without an element of dress-up, so this time their girls have raided the wardrobe of a 50s Hollywood pin-up and become quite the vixen.

While oversized and embellished collars are reminiscent of the label’s signature style, the cinched-in waists, refined tailoring of the all-enveloping coats and the sassiness of the velvet cocktail dresses shows that this sophisticated turn is a welcome one.
