Roksanda Ilincic has dipped her toe in the daywear pool before.

For AW10 there were a couple of pencil skirt and blouse looks that could have been worn to a very dressy daytime function. Say the Business Woman of the Year Awards luncheon at Claridge’s. But in the main, Roksanda is of course known for eveningwear glitz.

That changed for spring summer 2012 when she turned all-rounder. We’re not talking school run all-rounder thank goodness, but with hessian weave cocoon coats and sack skirts, simple shifts, overblown check trousers and loose silk shirts, Roksanda for Everyday is as wanted as Roksanda for Whistles.

Colour combinations were eye-poppingly refreshing: Blue and brown, turquoise and fuchsia, gold with giant orange rope belts and neon colour block heels. Not to lose her current fanbase, evening dresses were simply cut bar sudden jellyfish skirts shooting from either waists or knees. A lovely and unexpected direction.
