Of course, what Roland Mouret does best is eveningwear.

Seductive, form-fitting curve-caressing eveningwear. And there were plenty of desirable options at this AW10 show, sensual in pale rose or dove grey jersey, wrapped at the waist with a leather belt or velvet ribbons, as well as a parade of sexy black dresses that romped from thigh to floor. But the designer has increasingly explored daywear in recent collections and here he offered up an incredible black wool coat, curved round the body, plus narrow velvet trousers, tunic dresses, little boucle hooded jackets and beautifully draped and folded pieces that are also becoming a signature: what he calls a carre, worn either as skirt or top. Can Monsieur Mouret make women look as show-stopping off the red carpet? Yes, he can.
