Before you even got close to the throng-filled catwalk at Topshop Unique's show, you could smell it.

A strong earthy scent emanated from the pack of paparazzi snapping guests Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Peaches and Pixie Geldof. Mounds of earth and moss had been scattered like a shag-pile carpet along the runway. Possibly dug up and shipped from Epping Forest, but as soon as the first outfit appeared, it felt like it should have been from North American woodland.

Antler, fox and rabbit ear headdresses (toy ones, of course) set the scene for Narnia-filled wonderland. Outerwear was the focus of this collection, and with it brought a selection of delightful duffle coats with fur trim, reversed sheepskin jackets and corduroy tailoring. The hunting these was driven home by leather harnesses worn over outfits, shrunken wax jackets and over-the-knee argyle socks.

This was the most adult collection that we've seen from Topshop in a while. Warmth being prevalent to provocation. But there were still some cute print dresses and bra french knicker sets for the more flirty shopper.

Warning. No animals were harmed in the making of this collection. Makes you think why other designers don't try faking it for a change?
