The mood board backstage must have had “fierce, fast, sex, energy” scrawled all over it, such was the pace and attitude that the models gave at Versace.

Strutting down the catwalk to the sound of a motorbike revving and a clubby tune, the theme for Autumn Winter was biker. And the influence was not lost on its audience. Zips tore through white dresses, ribbed panels were picked out in purple and black on coats, dresses were split to the thigh – presumably to allow you to get on the bike.

In a season that is shouting loudly about wearable, practical luxury, Versace’s in your face and young clothing is a lone voice.
