With Donatella at the helm the Versace girl is never going to be a demure wallflower.

Instead she's strong confident and oozing with sex appeal - even, it seems, while sporting sherbert shades.

The theme? Under the sea, interpreted, naturally in the modern, ultra-glamorous house style. The show kickstarted with a clutch of white pieces sporting serious gold hardware - a pencil skirt and bandeau top covered with gold studs, stiff little shorts and cropped leather jackets and form fitting dresses with plisse pleated chiffon panels and studded, strappy backs.

The shapes recurred throughout the show, in turn covered with an aquatic print featuring seahorses, shells and starfish or made up in good-enough-to-eat shades of mint green, parma violet and powder blue. For evening - or for the more colour-phobic - there super sexy studded black pieces to choose from. And there were floor grazing gowns scattered with crystals, or held together with huge crystal starfish clasps.

It was fun and fabulous and proof, if proof was needed, that pastels needn't be prim.
