Felder Felder

The 1970s were the backdrop for Felder Felder's latest outing, and the twins apparently drew their inspiration from legendary skateboarder Tony Alves and the atmospheric photographs by Sarah Moon.

The retro reference points were evident in the green velvet and the printed velvet dresses. But the strongest pieces were those that were less obviously drawn from the decade - the block colour looks that played cleverly with textures. Red rubber trousers, skinny as can be styled with a short, chuny red sweater and, draped over the model's shoulders, a red rubber coat with fur hem; a luxe silk ribbed mini skirt worn with a sheer blouse; a beautiful flowing navy Devore maxi dress slit high at the front.

The coats were a serious hit with all those around us; from the mulberry coloured wool trench with fur to the classic wool crombies in navy and black and, if you're feeling particularly daring, a pink latex mac. And, of course, the final looks: a pair of models stalking the catwalk side by side in matching huge, shaggy Mongolian coats, one white, one grey. Just the thing to cosy up in next winter.
