S/S 2012 : New Model Faces

Her breakthrough came on the Balenciaga catwalk, then she landed the first ever Alexander Wang print campaign. And after opening the Wang show the following season (the New York equivalent of opening Prada in Milan), Aymeline bagged the closing slots at both Chloe and Rick Owens as well as the mightily coveted opening slot at Louis Vuitton. At 25, this Parisian beauty has a few years on most newcomers, but her transfixing gaze, killer body and cool, androgynous look - which is so in demand right now - has bagged her a well-deserved spot on our ones-to-watch list.

Walking in 60 shows and opening five is impressive for any established model. But for Emily Baker, this was her first season roll call. Spotted at every big show from Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga to Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs just weeks after moving from her native New Zealand, this fresh-faced seventeen year-old with a killer smile and chiselled cheekbones was quickly snapped up for the Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci and DSquared campaigns. The new Arizona? We think so… 

With a worldwide exclusive debut at the Prada show already under her belt, it’s no surprise that Juliane Gruner has the world’s editors, designers and stylists standing to attention. The Danish stunner has since landed the Balenciaga campaign and a solo Vogue cover shot by Steven Miesel. Not bad for a 15 year old who was signed less than 12 months ago. Since her start as an Elite Model competition finalist in 2008, Italian beauty Caterina Ravaglia made her debut in London and instantly caused a flurry of excitement with her youthful beauty and doe-eyes. In Paris, she walked for all the big names- Lanvin, Givenchy, Chanel and opened Dries van Noten. And to top off her break-out season? The sixteen-year-old made a dramatic appearance in the Hussein Chalayan video lookbook. So it looks like her debut New York season will be just as impressive…
