is the winner of best British designer award at the ELLE Style Awards.

He has just received his trophy on stage at The Savoy London from actress and burgeoning style star Elizabeth Olsen.

The accolade tops an impressive year of growth for the ultra-desirable London label, which was founded in 2006 by the eponymous Christopher and his sister Tammy. In January 2013, less than seven years after its inaugural , it was acquired by PPR – one of the world’s most powerful luxury conglomerates.

"Christopher Kane is a rare thing: one of the most talented designers of this generation as well as one of the most astute businessmen," said ELLE Editor-In-Chief Lorraine Candy when the PPR deal emerged. "Along with his partner and sister Tammy they have grown this brand cleverly and with a foolproof long term strategy. They have been smart and worked very hard. I can only expect big things going forward."

Kane, who hails from Motherwell in Scotland, is lauded for his ultra-modern take on luxury and has close ties with the house of , whose line he helmed until 2012.

He’s also a firm favourite of pop princess Kylie Minogue – she wore a bow-fronted crepe mini dress from his spring/summer 2013 collection on the cover of ELLE’s January 2013 issue – not to mention every ELLE girl you’ll ever meet.
