He has just received his trophy on stage at The Savoy London from actress and burgeoning style star Elizabeth Olsen.
The accolade tops an impressive year of growth for the ultra-desirable London label, which was founded in 2006 by the eponymous Christopher and his sister Tammy. In January 2013, less than seven years after its inaugural , it was acquired by PPR one of the worlds most powerful luxury conglomerates.
"Christopher Kane is a rare thing: one of the most talented designers of this generation as well as one of the most astute businessmen," said ELLE Editor-In-Chief Lorraine Candy when the PPR deal emerged. "Along with his partner and sister Tammy they have grown this brand cleverly and with a foolproof long term strategy. They have been smart and worked very hard. I can only expect big things going forward."
Kane, who hails from Motherwell in Scotland, is lauded for his ultra-modern take on luxury and has close ties with the house of , whose line he helmed until 2012.
