It is – yet again – the season of the extreme shoe. So extreme, in fact, that even models – the girls who are paid to walk in anything – couldn’t make it down the catwalk without tripping and tumbling. Prada’s snakeskin platforms were especially tricky… but gorgeous all the same. At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs threw every kind of embellishment onto his sandals – another key accessory trend. Look out for animal-print, tassles, fringes, beads, shells and every kind of African detail imaginable.
Bags this season go from the sensible and sporty – rucksacks, satchels, chain strap and ladylike – to the teeny tiny box clutch, which will barely hold a credit card.
Most other accessories were super-sized – big Japanese-style obi belts, chunky wooden bangles, huge plastic flower necklaces and jangly silver earrings which are back with a bang.
Even hair was accessorised with gorgeously girly bows, tiny hats with veils and floral headpieces.
