Luella, Spring/Summer 2009
An ex-fashion journalist, Luella Bartley started her career as a bit of a joke with ‘Daddy I Want A Pony’ T-shirts. She’s gone on to second guess what girls want ever since. In eight years she’s built up a fan base of cool girls – Lily Allen, Kate Moss, Kelly Osbourne – and a remarkably robust business that’s characterised by its playful chicness. One of the first young Brit designers to show in New York, Luella is now back home and London Fashion Week is all the better for it.
