Rita Ora was inspired 'by a swan' for her outfit at the ELLE Style Awards last night. In keeping with her 'theme' and so as not to detract from her jaw-droppingly beautiful Marchesa gown hairstylist Chris Appleton gave Ora a sleek hairstyle. 'We opted for a soft, clean feminine take on the slick-back look for Rita,' Appleton told ELLE. 'Brushing the hair away from the face creates a striking yet glamorous look and really accentuated her features'.

Here he reveals how to get the look:

Straighten you hair with Remington Silk Straightener concentrating mainly on the ends.

Lightly backcomb the top section keeping volume, then smooth over using a brush. The key to this look is that it is striking while remaining feminine – my top tip for securing your style without restricting movement and making it look too harsh is to spray hair spray onto a tooth brush, continue to brush your hair back into the style.

Apply a small amount of wet-look gel to the palm of your hands and gently rub along the sides of your head, being sure not to run too far down the hair so that you maintain a soft, natural look towards the mid-length and ends.
