Kane was presented with the award by actress – and ELLE style crush – Felicity Jones.
Given his track record to date, the alumnus could probably retire the award for Most Arcane Influence. While synonymous for his original body-con aesthetic, Kane is such an original thinker that there will always be a shock of the new – the Scottish designer manages to surprise us each season with a dichotomy between sophisticated staples and experiments that defy taste and logic.
Always a highlight on the London Fashion Week calendar, each new collection becomes a career best and leaves little wonder as to why fashion's favourite chameleon has such a legion of stylist celebrity devotees: Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson… need we go on?
And, after only showing his debut collection in 2006, it's thrilling to think he might just be getting started.
