Lily Allen has scooped the UK Recording Artist Female award at the ELLE Style Awards. The award was presented to her by designer Roland Mouret.
Lily, who stars in our March issue, made a spectacular return to the charts last summer, after sensationally announcing she was quitting pop music in 2009 to concentrate on motherhood.
Her comeback single, Hard Out Here, was a controversy-stirring ode to gender inequality, featuring the now-infamous line, ‘Lily Allen has a baggy p*ssy’. You don’t write lyrics like that without expecting a response (or 50).
Love or hate her, there’s no denying that the industry would be a far more boring place without the always-provocative Mrs Cooper.
