Today I am wearing: Sandro trouser suit, Maje blouse, loafers, Victoria Beckham sunnies, Valentino clutch (which has my initials on it so the Fashion Director can't nab it, she's like a magpie).

Day 4 Milano (half way through)

Things we know so far

Flats are the new platforms:

No one in their right mind can go from at 9am to at 9pm in a heel (except possibly Anna Della Russo, don't google her it will waste too much of your day), and I'm so confident British Editors will abandon anything over an inch by the end of the day I bet our driver Ciro that if he spots a Brit in heels after 12 hours, I'll drive tomorrow.

Black is the new pink - you'll all be wearing it in Spring 2014:

At this point we've started to notice trends emerging from the runway shows - most noticeably, black is back for Spring 2014 outnumbering the pretty pastels we usually see for spring by about 2:1. You heard it here first, if anyone asks.

Front row Fatigue - it's a thing:
It's been three weeks of sitting next to the same colleagues from other magazines almost every day and we're running out of things to tell each other as we wait for shows to start. Small talk is not infinite. This is when conversations become a little more twilight zone. I very much enjoy this. Here are some of my favourite quotes today from the fashion twilight zone:

- 'I did not know guinea pigs were edible'
- 'Where the hell can I get a cronut in Milan? Oh you've got one in your bag.'
- 'OMG Caps Lock' (I think this is a verbal exclamation mark)

Gloria Gaynor has still got it:

She sang 'I am what I am' on the catwalk at 30th anniversary show as Erin O'Connor and Jodie Kidd strode that catwalk behind other modelling greats from the through the years. Now I know which of my colleagues I'd take to Karaoke and which I would avoid.

1. Our Sicilian waiter wears the 30th anniversary t-shirt - Italian men are very accommodating.

2. Who is that in the background? Only Gloria Gaynor - front row breaks into a collective smile (that doesn't happen often).

3. Ciro, our driver, is from the town where they make this so he gave me some. But cheese doesn't photograph so well on it's own so I put the sunnies beside it.
