Loveworn, tender and sweet: fashion takes on a more innocent feel this season. “It’s time for a new kind of intimate luxury,” says Christopher Bailey of Burberry. This means pale, almost antique colours in gently crumpled fabrics, as if dresses had been left out on the washing line too long. The whole Burberry collection was inspired by the wet British summer – trousers looked as if they had been trailed through mud, cardigans were skinny as though shrunken, dresses were in need of ironing. The same soft feeling was found at Prada, Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta, Armani and Erdem, where models’ hair was interwoven with flowers – a trend to pick up for summer’s festivals.
