These days, one of the toughest things about being a designer is the perennial lack of funds in the industry.
Luckily, there are some organisations out there that aim to put this right - the British Fashion Council (BFC) is one of them.
Today, the BFC announced that its Fashion Trust has awarded £350,000 in grants to twelve British designers:
EUDON CHOI
FYODOR GOLAN
HILLIER BARTLEY
HOLLY FULTON
HUISHAN ZHANG
MARQUES'ALMEIDA
PALMER//HARDING
PHOEBE ENGLISH
PRISM
REJINA PYO
SIBLING
Established in 2011, the Fashion Trust offers selected designers business support through mentoring and financial aid to promote the fashion industry as a whole.
But what do the recipients plan to do with all this cash?
Their predecessors have gone on to develop stores, set up e-commerce and establish pre-collections - we can only hope that history will be repeating itself.
